What I love most about the type of work that I am involved with now, is the element of surprise and delight of observation. A simple mark or detail can set the journey train in motion. I have travelled a lot throughout my career, capturing stories that help viewers communicate with any number of projects. Now that I am free of the constraints of a more representational approach to photography, I am free to take a journey into the unknown.

I have always loved visiting Italy and Tuscany in particular. And Sienna is the jewel in the crown. I titled this piece, 'Burnt Sienna' as a tribute to the warmth that exists in this area. A warmth that runs deep and affects everyone who visits. This piece started life as a simple captue of architectural detail. I have layered the piece with additional detail that allows the piece to exude an intensity of warmth that I always feel travelling around this part of Italy.
