QUIET DISCOVERY

Some discoveries ask to be found.

While exploring the waterways surrounding the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, my attention was drawn away from the monumental architecture to something infinitely quieter. Floating amongst the still waters were clusters of delicate lilies, growing together in natural communities where young leaves intertwined with mature stems, creating beautifully balanced compositions shaped entirely by nature.

Many visitors would have walked past without a second glance. For me, they became the beginning of a visual journey.

The original photographic studies formed only the starting point. Back in the studio, countless hours were devoted to refining each image, carefully removing distractions before building layer upon layer of subtle textures, light and atmosphere. The process was intuitive and deeply considered, allowing the essence of the scene to emerge rather than simply reproducing what the camera had recorded.

The resulting collection moves beyond photography into a contemporary visual language that is both expressive and serene. Rich in detail yet wonderfully restrained, these works possess a quiet confidence that rewards prolonged viewing. Their layered surfaces invite contemplation, creating moments of calm within both residential and commercial interiors.
